How To Make Up Tired Eyes

Happy 2016! Whether you’re already dragging along this new year, just trying to open your tired eyes and climb out of bed, or woke up before your alarm and had a nice quiet morning to yourself, everyone could use a touch of strategically placed makeup to brighten up those post-holiday eyes. Today, we’re bringing you just that – eye makeup that keeps you looking fresh and awake, even if you’re not feeling it!

To start, we reach for one of our all-time favorite products, First Aid Beauty’s Eye Duty Triple Remedy. This stuff brightens, depuffs, and smooths like nothing else to leave your eyes looking brighter instantly. Plus, the metal tip applicator feels cold and soothing when applied, instantly eliminating the puffiness from all that holiday wine ;).

We follow up the Eye Duty with some a good concealer in an upside-down triangle shape underneath the eyes. To prevent cakiness, we recommend applying a thin layer first and building up from there if needed. Set the concealer right away with our favorite brightening powder.

Once the eyes have been properly brightened and concealed, we can move on to tricking the eye by adding color and shimmer. This is not nearly as intimidating as it sounds – simply line your inner waterline with a deep navy eyeliner (this one from Rimmel is our favorite) and watch the whites in your eyes become whiter and clearer immediately! This tip is especially helpful the morning after a late night!

Finally, apply a shimmery neutral cream eyeshadow, like this one from Charlotte Tilbury, for eyes that glisten and sparkle like you got a full 8 hours. Curl the lashes, apply mascara, and you’re done! Instantly awake!

Totally one of my New Year’s resolutions to brighten up eyes! I’ve gotten out of the habit of applying concealer but I totally need some YSL Touche Eclait under eyes.

      Thank you!

The Urban Decay Concealer is great for all over, but for a good undereye one try the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser – it’s incredible! x
