On Wednesday, we brought you a soft, glowy makeup routine perfect for a low-key date night in honor of Valentine’s Day. As promised, we’ve got a fun, more dramatic look today that works for a fancier date, or just a girls’ night out (Galentine’s Day – but we won’t call it that).
Start with a matte base with a bit more coverage. We want something long-lasting that is not going to slide right off as the night goes on.
Add a bronzey blush, like this one from MAC, that helps to add color, contour, and highlight. The shimmer may look a bit too much when swatched, or in the pan, but when applied to the cheeks it gives the perfect amount of glow.
We’re going for a plum-toned look, so thisquad from Chanel is perfect. We’re starting with the lighter purple shade all over, then adding the deeper purple to the crease and lower lash line. Next, dab your ring ringer in the bronze shade and pop it right on the center of your lid for some warmth and light. Finally, use the lightest shade under the browbone and in the inner corners to highlight.
Finish it off with mascara (and liner, falsies, the whole deal, if you’d like) and a nude lip. We like the Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Moss lipsticks because they’re not too matte and not too glossy, so they don’t dry out your lips or move around. The nude shade is the perfect complement to the heavier eye and very on-trend at the moment (a la Kylie Jenner, don’t you think?).
We hope you enjoyed our Valentine’s Day inspiration! Which look will you be rocking this holiday?
