When Nars creates limited edition makeup palettes we listen up. As longtime fans of everything Nars releases, we had high hopes for this new Steven Klein collaboration – it doesn’t hurt that Nars always teams up with the most creative & interesting people! So our review might not come as much of a surprise. Though you may be surprised to learn that this is the only makeup palette we’ll bringing with us on our holiday travels.
Surprise surprise – we love this palette. At a fairly decent price point, this palette features four blushes, a contouring duo, and the famous Laguna bronzer. We already knew we loved the Laguna bronzer (it’s been our go-to bronzer for years) and Nars blushes but had no idea the standout of this palette would be the contouring shade!
If you’re fair-medium complexion, this contour shade will be the only one you need in your collection. Extra rich in pigment and extremely blendable, this is your cheekbones new BFF.
As for the blush shades, we really like the selection here. Though we’re not normally pale pink blush kind of girls and thought we’d never get any use out of that shade, we’ve been pleasantly surprised. Our most used shades are the last two, with the darkest one being the perfect complementary shade for a deep berry lip, while the peach shade gives the cheek a nice, natural flush in one of the rarest blush colors we’ve ever owned.
The formula of all of the powder shades is exactly what you would expect from Nars – pretty much perfect. While we do think the shades aren’t as easily blended as their individual counterparts, we’re still impressed. The color payoff is super strong, so you only need a tap in the product to get a good amount of color! Best of all, it’s one of our favorite multi-use products, which is why it’s all we need this holiday season. All the powders can double as eyeshadow, and you already have contour, highlight, and bronze, along with any blush you could ever want!
