When we first saw this pretty Tarte palette pop up on Sephora’s new-in section (which you know we love), we immediately added it to our cart. We’re BIG fans of Tarte around these parts, especially anything with their signature Amazonian clay, so we were eager to give this new one a go. Spoiler: it does not disappoint.
The Tartelette in Bloom shadows are creamy and pigmented while being some of the most wearable ones we’ve ever owned. You know how you get an eyeshadow palette and find that you only like (and would wear) 7 out of 10 of the shades? Not the case here! No weird bright pinks or greens, nothing chalky, and no fallout (when paired with the right primer). The only caveat is the need for primer. When we first tried these shadows, we skipped primer altogether to see what the wear actually looked like based on the shadows alone. Unfortunately, that wasn’t in our favor. We had fallout shadow show up immediately on our cheeks, only getting worse as the day went out. By the end of the day, the creasing was driving us mad. Because we refused to give up hope on Tarte, we tried again the next day with our favorite primer underneath, much to Tarte’s success. We loved them! The blendable shades not only stayed put but they also didn’t crease or fade, checking off all of our favorite shadows’ selling points.
It’s now an eyeshadow palette we’re even traveling with regularly, as it can handle everyday eye brightening or evening out smoky eye in just a few swipes. Our easy spring smoky eye? Tarte’s got your back. Rachel Zoe’s F/W ’16 makeup look? Try Tartelette in Bloom.
