We are so excited to finally be bringing this braided bun to life with Lauren Kelp, photographer Sylvia Krzystofek, our model – Sophia Gerolium, and Sylisted hairstylist, Christina Gauthier. This time around, we don’t have a true tutorial for you (because honestly, this braided bun is a bit challenging), but we do have plenty of beautiful photos for you to browse while you book Christina to have her do it for you 😉
A few tips from the master herself:
Christina suggests attempting this style on day-old hair (at least!), as dirty hair tends to have more texture and grip than hair that has been freshly washed.
Use dry shampoo to boost volume and keep hair from looking too greasy (we want the texture of day-old hair, just not the grease!).
The messier the better! The best part about this style is that nothing needs to be neat and orderly.
The gist of this style is a bunch of fishtail braids going across the hair, so we recommend fishtail braiding each side of your hair, bobby pinning them up and then doing one large fishtail braid with the remaining hair to style into a bun.
