Hope you’re defrosting okay over there, East Coast! After that brutal storm Jonas and, hopefully, in the presence of a snow day today, we thought we’d help add some hydration to your life. During last winter’s big storm, we put together a blog post devoted to all things snow day survival, which we like to think is still just as relevant this time around ;). For this year’s snow day-related post, we’re talking about one of our favorite kitchen ingredients: avocado!
Avocado is often regarded as one of the most nutritious, hydrating ingredients as it’s rich in potassium, oils, and protein. So not only is it great for you to eat, you can also use it on your hair and skin. We’re always trying to whip up fresh and natural beauty alternatives in the kitchen and have found these 2 avocado recipes to be some of the best:
Beging by smashing all the ingredients together in a bowl. After you’ve washed your hair (don’t use conditioner!), comb it out and apply the mask from the mid-shaft of the hair to your ends. To make things really fun, wrap your hair up in Saran wrap and leave the hair mask on for as long as you can (we typically only can take 15-20 minutes). Rinse when time is up to reveal full, healthy hair!
Begin this recipe the same as the last! Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and apply to freshly cleansed, dry face. Let the mask soak for 15 minutes for plumper, more hydrated skin!
