Now that the weather is changing and the temperatures are dropping (though not this week!), your skin is starting to become drier and can get more irritated. No matter what skin type you have, it is important to always apply a night cream at night before you head to bed to ensure that your skin is able to become rehydrated and the nutrients are restored as you sleep.
We always try and remember that it is better to wear night cream now and see the benefits now then put it off until later on and see the effects on your skin of things like wrinkles or age lines. If you start using a night cream, it can make a drastic difference in the way your skin looks when you wake up and your skin will feel so much better than it did the night before. It’s also a greater topper for retinol (which everyone should be using!) to make sure you don’t get too flaky from the increased cell turnover.
We’ve been testing out quite the variety of night creams of all price points for you and have determined some clear winners. For those on a budget, we love this one from Cetaphil. It’s not a true night cream, as in it doesn’t state night cream directly on the packaging, but it delivers the same results and is a much thicker formula than we would wear during the day. For a mid-range option, we’re partial to this one from Korres (though you know nothing can replace our overnight masks!). First Aid Beauty makes a good one, too. Finally, if you’re looking to drop all the dollars, we’d recommend Sisley. They have incredible (and often, high-tech) products that deliver insane results.
What is amazing about all of these products is that while you can buy the most expensive skincare to give your skin the top care with skin products, you don’t have to. There are products out there that you can purchase for a lot less money but have the same characteristics as the top of the line products. Dehydration lines be gone!
