As mentioned yesterday, Lauren – our CEO & Co-Founder, put together this fun holiday hair look using leftover ribbon from gifts! In following our “December Dares” series, she then used that new headband to create a ridiculously easy updo. You can get the full step-by-step instructions on how to create the updo yourself here. Today, Lauren’s showing us how she went about creating the DIY headband in the first place! It couldn’t be any easier! We hope you enjoy.
This super simple homemade accessory requires no skill and no new crafting materials. You can even use the ribbons from your holiday gifts! Here’s a festive and thrifty DIY Holiday Headband in 3 easy steps.
1. Knot 6 pieces of ribbon around a hair tie. Our ribbons are 18” long, but you should measure around your own head, subtracting 2” for the hair tie.
2. Make 2 braids and knot each at the end. No rules here really! You can create 2 identical braids, or mix and match.
3. Knot the braids together around the hair tie. Don’t worry too much about ugly knots – your hair should hide any imperfections!
And that’s it! See, we told you it was super easy!
