We all know that as our makeup collections grow, we need more space to hold them and a way to contain them in an efficient way. So, today, we’re sharing a few tips on how to organize makeup and tools in an easy, inexpensive, and effective way! Stop by your local Container Store, Target, or Bed, Bath and Beyond to find some of the great storage options.
An easy way to hold brushes is with a cup or something to put on your counter. We prefer one with separators to organize brushes based on size and use. Many cosmetics organizers are made of clear acrylic material, but you could easily DIY your own by using a decorated small glass or mason jar for a fun look!
Depending on how much counter space you have, you might decide to hold more of your makeup on the counter in an organizer or, if countertop space is an issue, in drawers. If you have a large counter in your bathroom, there are many different countertop organizers with multiple drawers to hold everything from eyeshadow palettes to lipstick.
If you have drawers, we suggest separating your makeup in drawers based on what it is. For example – keep foundation, powder, blush, bronzer, and highlighter in one drawer in separate containers. It makes things easy to find, and you know that everything you need for a base is in the same place. If you store things in containers in drawers, make sure you take measurements before you go out to buy containers, so you know they fit in the drawer!
Since eyeshadow palettes come in all shapes and sizes, it’s good to keep these by themselves in one drawer. A good way to maximize storage space is to separate larger palettes from smaller palettes in containers. For lipsticks, a great option is going back to the Container Store to find a lipstick organizer. They come in many sizes and keep them upright and pretty.
As always, Pinterest is a great source for DIY and store-bought makeup organization tips as well! Collections of makeup are all different, and when we find the right way to store our makeup, the process is so much more streamlined in the morning!
