Summer is almost here, which means it’s time to celebrate one of our favorite trends – gorgeous, glowing skin! We love products such as this one that help maintain a flawless face each day, but why not break away from your daily skincare regimen every once in awhile to treat yourself (and your skin) to something new? Whether you’re spending the night in or getting ready for girl’s night out, these easy DIY face masks are all you need to tackle some of your skin’s most difficult problems, all while nourishing your face with natural, detoxifying ingredients.

Fight Acne

What You’ll Need:

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

What to do: Mix all ingredients together to create a smooth mixture, then leave on the face for 30 minutes. This mask easily washes off with water from the sink or shower. While the cinnamon in the mask fights bacteria to prevent future outbreaks, nutmeg reduces the appearance of existing blemishes by exfoliating the surface of the skin. Honey is also well-known for being an antibacterial agent, meaning it interacts with the skin to remove impurities. Once this face mask is removed, your skin will feel soft to the touch and blemish-free.

Hydrate Skin

What You’ll Need:

2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt

2 teaspoons honey

1/2 a lemon

Small handful of blueberries

What to do: We love this mask because of the cleansing effects of Greek yogurt and antioxidants found in blueberries. Combine the Greek yogurt, honey, and small handful of blueberries together until blended. As pictured above, a paste-like substance should form. Squeeze your half lemon into the mask and mix well, then apply to the face for 15-20 minutes, being careful not to get the mask near your eyes. Wash off with warm water and top off with your favorite moisturizer for fresh, healthy-looking skin!

Exfoliate and Cleanse Pores

What You’ll Need:

1/2 avocado, mashed

1/4 banana, mashed

1 tablespoon coconut oil

2 tablespoons honey

1/4 cup raw, ground oatmeal

What to do: Add all ingredients together and blend with a food processor, wooden spoon, or blender. Apply liberally to the face and wash off after 15 minutes. The avocado, banana, and oatmeal will leave the skin feeling smooth, while the properties of honey and coconut oil help to moisturize the skin and target problem areas. Not to mention, this face mask is dermatologist tested and approved!

Remove Blackheads

What You’ll Need:

1 egg white

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1-2 thin pieces of tissue paper

1 small brush for application

What to do: This peel-off mask will remove all those pesky blackheads! Simply beat your egg white and stir in the lemon juice. Use your brush to sweep your mask in an even layer all over your face, avoiding your eyes. Place the tissue paper over the mask, keeping in mind that this step may feel a bit sticky. Next, apply another layer of the egg white and lemon juice mixture on top of the tissue paper. You should let the mask completely dry between 15 and 20 minutes before peeling it off and rinsing your face with warm water. Pat dry, then stare in admiration at your blackhead-free pores!
