There’s nothing like wedding prep to get a gal to spend a little more on skincare products… ok, a lot more! What we once deemed too expensive now seems somewhat reasonable. You want to have the best skin of your life on your big day, right? As our checking account dips and these pricey products take their sweet time to get to work, we’ve gained an even deeper appreciation for our favorite cheap thrills.
Here are some affordable favorites that will forever be in the mix. Whether you’re gearing up for a big event or just want to feel your best!
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream For Dry Skin: If you have dry skin, or have ever had the pleasure of acclimating to a retinoid, this product is a lifesaver. We have tried every face moisturizer under the sun to combat dry skin (thanks, Chicago winter). Sometimes our skin will love a product for a bit, but then somehow becomes immune to its powers and it stops working. This has happened with $65 luxury creams and $20 mid-range creams. At $8.99, available at Walgreens and Ulta, Garnier’s gel moisturizer is the cheapest and most enduring that we have ever tried.
Pixi Glow Peel Pads: If you’re looking for an immediate, noticeable difference in your skin’s texture, then this cult favorite product is for you. These pads contain an extremely high percentage of glycolic acid – 20%(!) – but are perfectly balanced with rose water. The result is a deeply exfoliated face without any of the irritation. You can buy a pack at Target – which comes with 60 pads – for $22. That’s 37 cents per skin changing application.
Miss Spa Brighten Sheet Mask: If our skin is feeling especially dry, or we just want to create the best possible base before a heavier makeup application, this is our go-to. We’ve tried a couple of the other Miss Spa masks, but this one is by far the best. It’s less than $2 on Amazon and $2.99 at Target.
