We can hardly contain our excitement over the first of three unique fall makeup tutorials featuring one of our favorite beauty lines, Hourglass Cosmetics! We hope you’re just as excited as we are for this partnership, and would like to thank Hourglass for kindly sending us the product for this post and agreeing to partner on this, as well as Kasha Rodig for her makeup expertise, and Allegra Walker for her modeling skills. You’ll be seeing a lot more of this in the next few weeks, so get excited! Without further adieu, click through to find out how to get this effortless fall makeup tutorial perfect for work or school, or just daytime in general.
Start with a bare face and apply the Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint all over the face and blend it out (this product gives way more coverage than we were expecting for a tinted moisturizer, so you really only need a little!). Grab a little bit more of the product to spot conceal where needed and on the eyelid to act as an eye primer.
Add one of our favorite products, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light, all over the face to set your makeup. You can also use this just in your T-zone, or as a highlighter, as it truly gives a “lit from within” look, however, we wanted this look to be extra glowy, so we happily applied it all over Allegra’s face.
Now that the base is done, move on to the eyes. Kasha worked with Hourglass’ Modernist Eyeshadow Palette in Obscura. These palettes are so artistically designed and beautiful that it crushed us to have to swirl our brushes in them. Once you get over that, however, begin by applying the lightest shade all over the lid. She then blended the middle shade into Allegra’s creases and finished the eyes off by adding the darkest shade as a makeshift liner above and below Allegra’s lashes. Follow up with the mascara of your choice!
Kasha applied Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure, which is the perfect berry shade for fall. These blushes are soft-focus, just like all of Hourglass’ powders, adding color in a way that boosts the skin, rather than flattens it. They’re buildable in color, but you don’t need much to get the perfectly flushed look! Best of all? This shade adds enough definition to the face that bronzer isn’t necessary though we’d go wild with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer if we had it.
For the lips, Kasha used the Hourglass Panoramic Long Wear Lip Pencil in Empress – Aubergine, a product that stays put all day long and is perfectly paired with the Opaque Rogue Liquid Lipstick in Empress – Aubergine for a lip that won’t budge!
And there you have it! The effortless, yet still elegant and seasonally-inspired fall makeup look. Make sure to let us know if you recreate the look by tagging us @thestylisted and hashtagging #GetStylisted. We can’t wait to see.
